Wirral Council is asking parents and schools for their views on changes to the timing of the grammar school selection tests. The new national Admissions Code says that parents must have their child's selection test results before the end of October.

In May of Year 5 parents would be asked to say if they want their child to be tested for entry to grammar school. The practice and real tests would take place in September of Year 6 so that parents can have the test results by mid-October. The number and style of the tests will not change.

The first year group to be tested under the amended scheme would be children currently in Year 5. To find out more, go to www.wirral.gov.uk/schooladmissions and look under "Consultation on School Admission Arrangements 2013/2014", or ask at the school office for a parent's leaflet.
